چکیده

A new interpretation for the second peak of T Coronae Borealis (T CrB) outbursts is proposed based on a thermonuclear runaway (TNR) model. The system consists of a very massive white dwarf (WD) with a tilting accretion disk and a lobe-filling red-giant. The first peak of the visual light curve of T CrB outbursts is well reproduced by the TNR model on a WD close to the Chandrasekhar mass (MWD ∼> 1.35 M⊙), while the second peak is reproduced by the combination of the irradiated M-giant and the irradiated tilting disk. The derived fitting parameters are the WD mass MWD ∼ 1.35 M⊙, the M-giant companion mass MRG ∼ 0.7M⊙ (0.6 − 1.0M⊙ is acceptable), the inclination angle of the orbit i ∼ 70, and the tilting angle of the disk iprec ∼ 35 . These parameters are consistent with the recently derived binary parameters of T CrB. Subject headings: accretion disks — binaries: close — binaries: symbiotic — novae — stars: individual (T CrB)

RECURRENT NOVAE AS A PROGENITOR SYSTEM OF TYPE Ia SUPERNOVAE. I. RS OPHIUCHI SUBCLASS — SYSTEMS WITH A RED GIANT COMPANION

Theoretical light curves of four recurrent novae in outburst are modeled to obtain various physical parameters. The four objects studied here are those with a red giant companion, i.e., T Coronae Borealis, RS Ophiuchi, V745 Scorpii, and V3890 Sagittarii. Our model consists of a very massive white dwarf (WD) with an accretion disk and a red giant companion. Light curve calculation includes refle...

Recurrent Novae , Classical Novae , Symbiotic Novae , and Population II

Light curve analysis of decay phase of nova outburst are summarized. Nova duration is determined by the strong wind mass-loss which depends only on the white dwarf mass. Fast novae correspond very massive white dwarfs and very slow novae correspond almost lower mass limit of white dwarfs. This relation is shown in both of classical novae and recurrent novae. Light curves are theoretically repro...

A Theoretical Light-curve Model for the Recurrent Nova V394 Coronae Austrinae

A theoretical light curve for the 1987 outburst of V394 Coronae Austrinae (V394 CrA) is modeled to obtain various physical parameters of this recurrent nova. We then apply the same set of parameters to a quiescent phase and confirm that these parameters give a unified picture of the binary. Our V394 CrA model consists of a very massive white dwarf (WD) with an accretion disk (ACDK) having a fla...

A gaseous metal disk around a white dwarf.

The destiny of planetary systems through the late evolution of their host stars is very uncertain. We report a metal-rich gas disk around a moderately hot and young white dwarf. A dynamical model of the double-peaked emission lines constrains the outer disk radius to just 1.2 solar radii. The likely origin of the disk is a tidally disrupted asteroid, which has been destabilized from its initial...

Fluorine in R Coronae Borealis Stars

Neutral fluorine (F i) lines are identified in the optical spectra of several RCoronae Borealis stars (RCBs) at maximum light. These lines provide the first measurement of the fluorine abundance in these stars. Fluorine is enriched in some RCBs by factors of 800 to 8000 relative to its likely initial abundance. The overabundances of fluorine are evidence for the synthesis of fluorine. These res...
